Leelanau Harvest Tour Is This Weekend!
September 11, 2018, 12:00 am

This Saturday, riders from all over the region bid a fond farewell to summer road riding with a gorgeous ride in Leelanau County.

The Leelanau Harvest Tour is an annual tradition in Traverse City, with riders of all abilities and interests coming together to celebrate the end of another riding season and one of the most stunning places to ride in the world. Starting and finishing in Suttons Bay, the ride is a chance to enjoy the rolling roads, beautiful views, and wonderful company in Leelanau County from the saddle.

Friends always come together for this ride, choosing from 20, 40, 65, and 100-mile route distances that blend together some hills, plenty of flat roads, views of the lakes, and some quiet time on the TART, with all rides finishing back in Suttons Bay. Hundreds of riders will join in for the Saturday ride, many of whom will make a point of stopping at the aid stations that are always well-stocked with goodies, snacks, and volunteers ready to help keep you rolling.

Luckily, this weekend is looking to offer the best weather the Harvest Tour has seen in years. Temperatures in the mid-70s and with no rain, it should be an ideal day to hop on the bike and enjoy some saddle time with friends. The ride starts at 8 am for the 100 milers, with suggested starts times of 65 milers by 9 am; 20 and 40 milers by 10 am. The food is wrapped up by 4:30, so you'll want to be back with plenty of time to enjoy it!

For more information, head to the Cherry Capital Cycling Club website and we'll see you on the roads of Leelanau County!

September 25, 2018, 12:00 am

This past weekend, we had a huge turnout of City Bike Shop racers head south to the Cadillac Pathway for the Bear Claw Epic. Now in its fourth year, the event is the biggest fundraiser for the trail is utilizes, and the impact has been astounding. The race’s proceeds and a lot of hard work by the trail organizers have led to a recent parking lot expansion, a new pavilion, plus eleven miles of new trails in 2019!
