GRAVITA ALPACA X5 is a gravity mountain bike saddle that gives you the control you need for fast, aggressive downhill riding. This Gravita version of the Alpaca saddle is the result of close collaboration with team Santa Cruz Syndicate's riders and mechanics. Its World-Cup-proven features perfectly complement gravity oriented bikes, from long-travel enduro to pure downhill. You might not spend much time sitting on your saddle when riding fast down mountains, but the right set-up is still vital if you love fast, rowdy riding but want to stay in full control. Gravita Alpaca's rounded contours allow smooth, fast movements of the inner legs as you guide your bike down the hill. Flexible edges along the wings and rear end protect your inner legs from bruising, however rough the ride. And less bulk and a shorter length allow for more suspension travel. However much you enjoy the descents, you'll still need to pedal to reach the top of the mountain. Gravita Alpaca's flat surface allows continuous changes of position from fore to aft. And the nose is wide and flat, so as you shimmy forward to maintain traction when tackling steep climbs, you have a solid platform to push against. TERRA ALPACA X5 is a new mountain bike saddle offering support and riding control – in and out of the saddle, up or down the hills. This Terra version of the Alpaca saddle is perfect for full-suspension trail bikes; it's designed to feel right whether your dropper post is extended for pedaling or dropped for descents. The 145mm wide saddle offers great pedaling support but it's also easy to move around on. A gradual transition from the nose to the wings allows constant fore-and-aft position changes, while the slightly waved tail discreetly supports your lower back. We wanted this saddle to help you explore the toughest trails. So, the nose is wide and flat, offering a solid platform to push against as you shimmy forward to maintain traction when tackling steep climbs. For added comfort, we've added an ergonomic indent that relieves soft tissue pressure without interfering with baggy riding shorts. Once you've conquered the climbs and you head downhill with dropper post lowered, your saddle becomes a control device. GREATER STABILITY Where a traditional saddle shape encourages riders to shift their position frequently for better leverage, the Argo puts riders in a more planted position, making for greater stability and better weight distribution. The Terra Argo's short length allows riders to sit further forward without placing undue pressure on sensitive areas. It also features an ergonomic cut-out that was developed using detailed pressure analysis and input from medical experts. GRAVEL SPECIFIC SADDLE The Argo is our most versatile saddle shape, with each version suited to different riding styles. As the gravel-specific option, the Terra Argo has been engineered with a compliant shell to offer a certain degree of flexibility. This controlled elasticity absorbs road chatter and vibrations, delivering the comfort needed for long distance riding over unpaved roads. STABILITY AND RESPONSIVENESS To better support the Terra Argo's flexible shell, we used our closed-loop Mobius rail system for increased structural stability and responsiveness. The Terra Argo features a waved profile to provide the lower-back support necessary for long rides and to help riders hold their position while climbing on loose terrain. The same goes for the dropped-nose design which allows riders to rotate their pelvis while pushing forward on the nose for better traction and power transfer. LONG DISTANCE COMFORT The padding is made from fizik's proprietary Type-2 foam formulation, slightly thicker around the ischial sit bones area to support a more upright riding posture.
